CHARTER CHURCHES Anna Kresge Memorial A rural senior congregation established a ministry to 40 community children, and is now serving 50 children and youth weekly and growing through a support team of over 30 volunteers. The ministry has taken children from introducing them to our awesome God to their individual confirmation of faith.
The Bridge A church plant that with limited resources cast a vision for families in the community. Grew to be a viable children’s ministry within congregation of over a hundred members.
PREVIOUS MATTHEW INITIATIVE PARTNER CHURCHES St Paul (Fall 2012) Located in east Atlanta, The Matthew Initiative helped refocus a directionless children’s program by planting a vision that reached 25 children, has expanded into a student program, and continues to grow.
Waleska (Spring 2013) WUMC is the little church that could. It has grown from 4 children to 40 in their weekly Wednesday Super Kids program. The growth of Wednesday has lead to the arrival of new families on Sunday mornings reinvigorating their Sunday morning programming and bringing additional growth.
Princeton (Summer 2013) By intentionally targeting their communities’ children during their Sunday afternoon outreach program, Princeton experienced a season of growth not only in children’s ministries but in attendance on Sunday mornings, and in volunteer participation from college students and community members.
Hampton (Fall 2014) By moving there program from Sunday morning to Sunday afternoon Hampton went from 8 to 50 children. With over 25 volunteers they are now looking beyond their walls and are growing a diverse ministry that reflects their community.
Metropolitan (Fall 2014) A historic African American church in downtown Rome, Metropolitan had no children and started a van ministry in their community. They have seen exponential growth. New families are arriving weekly and they are serving at least 40 children and youth on Wednesday nights at this multicultural kingdom.
John Wesley (Winter 2015) Located in an ethnically and religiously diverse area, John Wesley has established a Sunday afternoon program that has welcomed over 50 families since its launch in 2015. The potential for community impact is limitless as John Wesley continues to reintroduce itself to the community.
