A MATTHEW INITIATIVE CHURCH IS A PLACE OF JOY, HOSPITALITY, AND HOPE.
THE VISION Transforming lives and communities through dynamic children's ministries.
The Matthew Initiative empowers under resourced and under served churches to become places of joy, hospitality and hope for the children of their communities. Based on the scripture from Matthew 19:14, "Let the children come, and do not hinder them," The Matthew Initiative's model works with their partner churches on a weekly basis over a period of time, providing needed resources and a plan for their success. Using the unique model of launch, build, and sustain, The Matthew Initiative works with and resources the children's ministry of the partner church until the attendance and volunteer base has been established and the church can self sustain the weekly program. Our model enables us to enter into a ministry partnership with the churches we serve, rather than a consulting one. Our partner churches contribute leadership, volunteers, and hospitality through a weekly meal for the children from the community that attend. The average length of time it takes to bring a church from the launch to sustain phase is 6 months.
